This Staue of Narsinha, a demonic beast form of God Vishnu, built in 1703AD by king “Bhupatindra Malla” is placed as a guardian at the top of the staircase, guarding the Five Storeys Roofed Pagoda Style temple located in Bhaktapur called “Nyatapole Temple”.
The guardians at each side of the temple are set up in terms of strength, at the bottom of the stairs,there are the weaker ones, the two strongest warriors of that time and at the second and third lineup there are sculptures of elephant and a lion respectively, at the top, the fourth one, there lies this sculpture of Narsinha, meaning the strongest among all four beings. Unearthed from the underground palace of Leifeng Pagoda in Hangzhou in 2001, it is 68 cm high. The Buddha statue has a high meat bun, spiral hair, slender eyebrows, ears hanging down the shoulders, and three silkworm patterns on the neck. Wearing a double-collared hanging cassock, the hem is covered with a lotus seat. Inside is a monk’s branch, and a silk belt is tied in front of the chest. The left hand caresses the knee, the right hand casts the Dharma seal, and sits on the lotus platform in knotted lotus. Under the lotus pedestal, there are Panlong columns, double-layer Xumizuo and square beds. The coiled dragon goes up around the column, holding up the lotus seat, and the column is embedded in the Xumi seat. There are two flame-style pot doors on each side of Xumizuo. The name “Devi” is given to Hindu Goddesses. All Hindu Goddesses can be referred to as Devi. The opposite to Devi is Deva which is masculine. A thick metal strap is put around this statue to protect it from additional damage and thieves.

The Chureito Pagoda (忠霊塔, Chūreitō) is a five storied pagoda on the mountainside overlooking Fujiyoshida City and Mount Fuji off in the distance. The pagoda is part of the Arakura Sengen Shrine and was built as a peace memorial in 1963 nearly 400 steps up the mountain from the shrine’s main buildings.
The location offers spectacular views of Mount Fuji in combination with the pagoda, especially during the cherry blossom season in mid April when there are hundreds of trees in bloom and during the autumn color season which usually takes place in the first half of November. The spot is particularly popular among photographers as it allows for some wonderfully stereotypical shots of Japan.
