This huge sculpture stands in the middle of Bordeaux (France). When I walked by, I was stunned by this “half flat” sculpture, and shot it with my phone. I was realy impressed by the very realistic rendering, although most of the volume has been flattened. Another feature worth noting : its proportions take into account the fact that the viewer is on the ground, so that the upper part of the head is much larger than it should be , to compensate for the perspective. This is a technique that has been know for a long time, (used by Michelangelo), but it’s interesting to see how it applies here. It’s 7 meter high, and because of this I had some difficulty reconstructing the top parts. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 112484 polygons.

Hi to everybody again. In this guitar challenge I present this gibson paint. It makes me nostalgic, the musical instruments, there was a time in my life where I did a lot of music. To project mu passion I have done a stylized hell style painting. The work of uvs was additional, for this use blender and manually cut each piece, then rectification of angular and area distortions. For the puzzle use uvpackmaster, separating in 3 materials with 70% coverage of the islands on the texture set, and an optimal texture resolution for real time, prepared for a 4k and two 2k map. This is a bit of an experiment and still a work in progress. The Smithsonian has a mammoth skeleton for download, http://3d.si.edu/downloads/55 . Mammoths are, of course, relatives of African elephants. But they are more comparable with Indian elephants. Making a skeleton is a a lot of work and I wanted to see if I would be able to take an educated guess and turn the mammoth skeleton into an African (bush) elephant skeleton. I am still going to ask people who know to review it, but for now here it is. I will probably use this slot to upload the updated versions.
