Each piece is marked with individual pins so that there is no errors in assembling. The second version, is more for MMU machines, where the gold patterns have actually been cut in to the sides of the cube, so the gold will actually be inlayed. Both versions are made up of 6 individual sides, with pins/slots for the sides to be assembled, and also to make printing easier. It blew me away that they took these relatively simple drawings, and brought to life these really realistic humanoid turtles. I remember losing my mind when I first saw them. When I started working on this by chance, there were these new turtle figures out that had captured quite a bit of the detail from the movie costumes so I used those as reference heavily. I built this model with high end game cinematics in mind, base model was around 83k before smoothed. He will eventually have a full working facial rig with mouth cavity....just getting lazy here towards the end on him..haha. The skin I ended up using one of the default new orc skin templates in painter and messed around with the layers in that with some of my own custom additions and I think it turned out fairly nice.
