This is a model of an 18th Century English hanger sword that I made originally using RealityCapture. I’ve returned to my original model, retopologized it, reworked the textures, and cleaned it up in some spots that needed manual attention. I’m quite happy with the result, and look forward to incorporating retopology in to my workflow more frequently. The blade is in excellent condition, and the hilt is a finely crafted work of silver. Both maintain an almost mirrored finish, presenting an enormous challenge to capture through photogrammetry. The initial model turned out okay considering the conditions, but several parts of the model had issues with continuity of the normals due to the nature of the more random topology of the model RealityCapture produced. This results in razor edges looking rough and jagged, as well as the smooth mirrored surfaces appearing lumpy and unfinished. This project feels like the reimaging of two separate projects I’ve done in the past. Mountain top castle, and lighthouse island. Both projects that at the time I was pleased with, but looking back on I felt weren’t my best. I liked their premises a lot so I went ahead and merged the two together. Thus Castle Island was born! Now for this scene, I did something I don’t often do when It comes to modelling scenes. I purchased pre-existing work. I know! Crazy, but I was having a strange amount of trouble modelling grass, I couldn’t get anything that looked “grass” you know? I found an awesome little collection pack of low poly natural and organic models. Something I do tend to struggle with making so I was in awe that I found something that fit my style and could be a great leg up in terms of things I struggle with. Definitely going to see if I can leverage these assets in the future. This first year project was to design a stereotomic form and it’s ground keeping in mind material, human experience, as well as atmosphere. I chose to incorporate water in my model and hence designed a form that is submerged within another form full of water. I then decided to continue the pattern of nesting into my ground as well. I chose to use glass in order to create an invisible feel that lets people feel as if they are floating in space. As a person moves up, the ground space is lesser, signifying increasing solitude and focus due to lesser interaction with the outside world. All these elements combined guarantee a more focused, deliberate human experience in the space. The Convair F-106A Delta Dart was the last purpose-built all weather interceptor aircraft to serve with the United States Air Force, and still holds the record for the fastest single engine jet aircraft, reaching a speed of Mach 2.3. For it’s time, a very futuristic aircraft, it features many systems including internal weapons bays, IRST, Datalink, and was one of the most maneuverable aircraft of the era due to a sophisticated fuel transfer system allowing for optimal center of gravity. This is a model I originally intended to make into a playable VTOL VR aircraft, but have currently stopped work on due to personal reasons. While the texture is one of my more detailed, it is also mirrored, which I don’t like. Don’t forget to check out the animation list, there’s a handful in there! For reference, most of these are always seen from a top-down perspective, at 30-ish degrees. This is a rework of the initial submission from a year ago. A lot of things were updated: the design was changed, the materials significantly upgraded, and the animations were not only modified to account for the model changes, but also polished; I also used the opportunity to add a new flying idle rare animation. The animations here on Sketchfab differ very slightly from the final in-game version. (Most notably the front flippers in the ground idle.) I didn’t really knew anything about Little Witch Academia until I came across this artwork piece by Fablefire on Instagram. I highly suggest you guys follow her, as she makes some really cute art. The idea for this model was to practice notions of three dimensional volume and it was challenging endeavor. Making Akko as cute and close to the source was my biggest challenge here, but I’m definitely happy with the end result. The Game | ForeVR Darts is the second flagship game by ForeVR Games Studio released for the VR Oculus Quest Community. My contribution was to co-design, create, and implement every aspect of the pipeline process. Starting from initial design & concepting phase, greyboxing, modeling, texturing, scene lighting and finally testing, optimizing, and implementing.
