This project was made with 3dsMAX, Adobe Photoshop, and Corel Photo Paint. It was designed to be added to Microsoft Flight Simulator X as an addon. Some of novelties at the time were the flames of the afterburners wich is part of the 3D model, as opposed to the - at the time - standard use of sprite. A new spaceship with a new texture approach. A mix of realistic texture and cel-shading to have a 2D/3D rendering. Making of The Terran Zerofighter is modeled on 3D Studio Max. Once finished, I duplicated the entire geometry, applied a flat black shader and added a thin thickness of 0.5 mm. When the black envelope covers the entire ship, it suffices to invert the faces and make them visible only on one side (Backface cull). We obtain the inking around the volumes. When the uv’s are made to apply the textures, all you have to do is import it into 3D-Coat. For the texture, I worked in shades of gray, purely 2D to draw everything I needed (plates, screws etc.) All that remains is to apply clipping masks on the corresponding layers and add material, volume, etc. The texture finished, I exported my different textures into a PBR Metalness/Roughness workflow which includes: albedo - metalness - roughness - normal - emissive 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 85524 polygons.

At a strip mall across town is this concrete Statue of Liberty. I’ve driven by it for years. I decided to do a quick and dirty model of it. By the time I got to the strip mall, the sun was close to setting and I had to hurry. As you can see, South Dakota seasons are hard on decorative concrete sculptures like this one. The agragate under the surface of the concrete is starting to show in places where the concrete has worn away. The protective paint is patchy giving moisture more places to penetrate and wear down the concrete. This model is just the latest generation cast from a prototype I first saw in the 1980s when the Statue of Liberty’s centennial was approaching. Liberty fever was on the rise and someone cashed in by creating this stylized replica. It has been recreated in aluminum, fiberglass and concrete. It can be found in numerous statuary and garden centers. Did a scan of one of our company shirts for a quick project. This is the first time I’ve combined two sides of a soft-body scan - cloth tends to be somewhat floppy. To flip the shirt without messing up the fold pattern, I made a sort of cardboard sandwich I could press together. I also overexposed the shots to improve the scan. The cleanup wasn’t too bad. Even after deleting points from the platforms from the dense cloud they still made their way into the mesh a little. Ended up taking those out in Max, then smoothing things over in ZBrush. I also used ZBrush for the decimation and unwrap, and was really happy about the results. I like Max’s peel feature, but UV Master in ZBrush goes so much faster and gets rid of all the overlaps even if the result is bent a little. I also still need to find a faster way to patch up seams. There was one towards the “south” side of the shirt that I had to a 2nd channel unwrap -> bake -> photoshop -> bake to ch1 -> mask into texture approach. I’m a fan of cars from NFS, NFS2, NFS3: hot pursuit. I like to create accurate replicas of the cars from these games. And i styled this McLaren F1 according to the NFS2 version. For work, i used a mid-poly model, for the possibility of easy use for games, but replaced all the small details of the exterior with HD details in order to achieve quality and good appearance. I created an exact (ND 4 SPD) license plate, some textures and quality wheels. Just as in all my cars, i always create the correct reflecting geometry of mirrors, and the wheels will never hang in the void (like many 3D models and cars from games), because i really love the cars vhich i make. A 14th century farmer using a heavy plough pulled by oxen. I was approached by BuildersBrew to create a small diorama of a Medieval Farmer ploughing the fields, this was based off of some references provided and is to be used within the immersive mobile app for The Chester House Estate. Conservation with the overall tricount, texture space and alpha usage in the project was important to make sure the model could load well in the application, the texture for the character was 4k for this render however this was reduced to 2k in the application and the overall tricount came in at around 70k for the whole project. All the smaller sets were building up to this. The bandit camp was originally conceptualize for the mediterranean, pirate / magic themed level I was building in Unreal for whta I called the Amalgam game. I made the concept of a single level I wanted to make, similarly to the one I did 3 years ago, but fully with my own assets. The bandit camp is using sets of items. each set consist of 5-10 items and they share the UV map per set. I tried to logically put together items that are relatively close, so when the engine needs to load them, it will be easy, but I’m not really sure I achieved the desired effect, since now for a very small item, the engine also needs to load a larger picture. Without comaring the results in unreal with this approach and to have every item use their own UV, would take me to re-UV all items, but that’s too much work.. This is my improved environment from a previous compulsory. I was originally going to use normal maps tht I made in 3DCoat, but they looked awful on the towers that I instead went for a less detailed approach, with larger focus on colour. The rings and moon are all animated to be slowly floating up and down, in 3 different speeds (they also glow). The large creature that pierces through many of the spiral clouds, is a mix between a Furby (spesifically the Long Furby meme) and the length of an asian dragon.
