A figurine model of the Monumen Nasional (Monas), a large obelisk located in the center of Jakarta, Indonesia. Stylized lightly with aesthetics in mind, as such the dimensions/ratios don’t really conform to the actual monument. Partially inspired by the Civilization 6 artstyle (though I did not nail it exactly). Was created as a test of my modelling/texturing abilities, I’m quite happy with the outcome, while it did not precisely adhere to the idea I had in mind, it was quite good regardless. I uploaded this model to test how SketchFab renders something like this. The tricky part was figuring out how to get the silver foil on the top lable to be reflective. Got it to work :-) The cream looks like glossy plastic, but it’s a real-time render and gets the point across. I didn’t correctly UV map the underside because my renders were always on a table - so it didn’t matter. Independence Monument is a victory column located on Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) in Kyiv and is commemorated to the Independence of Ukraine.[1] Stylistically it presents a mix of Ukrainian Baroque and Empire style. The monument was built in a compositional center of the square to the 10th Anniversary of the independence of Ukraine in 2001. So this was a cool project to work on, I like sculpting weird artsy stuff and I’ve been trying to learn Speedtree and trees are pretty boring to look at for hours at a time while you’re trying to figure out what all the buttons and sliders do. I also had to learn a whole new workflow for this but it is what it is. The concept was heavily inspired by ‘The Last Of Us’ in the beginning, I also wanted the body to be similar to my ‘Corpse Flower’ model since theyre both in a larger project together. Initially while I was figuring out Speedtree this model had blue leaves so I was going for that Willow tree vibe but it wasnt looking right. Then I got inspired by the art in ‘Diablo 4’ and scrapped the leaves and added more tiny branches and that kinda brought the whole Blood Tree thing together. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 197388 polygons.
