Digital 3D reconstruction model of Cambuskenneth Abbey, Stirling, Scotland showing what the abbey and adjoining monastic buildings might have looked like in its rebuilt state following an attack by the army of King Richard II of England in 1383. The abbey has an accompanying freestanding bell tower or campanile which is unusual in Scotland. The tower is the only surviving part of the original church that remains standing to this day. It may have been spared its destruction by virtue of its use as a watchtower. The exterior masonry of the church may have appeared with a much brighter, lime-washed rendering than I have shown in this reconstruction. The masonry may also have featured decorative (painted) elements but such evidence for the exterior rendering of churches from before the reformation is hard to come by. Neonate pygmy right whale skeleton, collected in Victoria, Australia in 2019, approximately 185cm long. There are many fascinating aspects to the anatomy in this specimen - features characteristic of very young juveniles, morphology unique to whales, and injuries to the skeleton in this particular individual.
Frozen specimen from the Museums Victoria mammalogy collection (NMV C40064), CT scanned (Siemens Somatom go.UP medical CT) at Monash Biomedical Imaging. Skeleton segmented from CT data using Mimics Research (v. 21.0), with meshes further processed and re-articulated in Blender 2.82. Due to perimortem damage to the skeleton, some elements were digitally repaired and mirrored for this visualisation. Scanning funded by Monash University. The Monastery of St. Aberkios is situated on the seashore a short distance east of the village of Elegmi (modern Kurşunlu) on the Bithynian coast on the Propontis (the Sea of Marmara). It is possibly identified with the Monastery of the Theotokos of Elegmi, which was restored by Nikephoros Mystikos under Manuel I. Its typikon, dating to 1162, is preserved in the Monastery of St. John the Theologian in Patmos.

A figurine model of the Monumen Nasional (Monas), a large obelisk located in the center of Jakarta, Indonesia. Stylized lightly with aesthetics in mind, as such the dimensions/ratios don’t really conform to the actual monument. Partially inspired by the Civilization 6 artstyle (though I did not nail it exactly).
Was created as a test of my modelling/texturing abilities, I’m quite happy with the outcome, while it did not precisely adhere to the idea I had in mind, it was quite good regardless.

Scanning was performed by Hazel Richards using a Siemens Somatom GoUp medical CT scanner at Monash Biomedical Imaging, a Technology Research Platform at Monash University. The thresholded model was processed in Blender and uploaded to Sketchfab by Dr David Hocking.

This VR Paiting was made with tiltbrush. I tried a bit more angular room structures. The topic was “tranquil”. It was hard to keep the rough style of a painting when hard surfaces becomes part of the picture. This wooden ‘Green Man’ carving came from the screen in Owston Abbey, Leicestershire, which was an Augustinian monastry. It was cut out during renovations in the 19th century.
The ‘Green Man’ has a long and interesting history as it appears in both non-Christian and Christian traditions. The Green Man has been associated with seasonal rebirth and renewal and as such transferred easily into Christian imagery.
