SciFi/Cyberpunk inspired helmet. Original design by me. With this project I tried to experiment a new workflow. I created my own alphas in maya to create a new brush in Zbrush. It allowed me to put a lot of small details on my helmet. I still wanted to retopo my model in order for it to be real time rendered. This relief carving is in one of the crypts at Dendera Temple, Egypt and has been interpreted by various fringe or conspiracy theorists and “alternate” history nuts as evidence of the ancient Egyptians having light bulbs. However, that pseudoscientific interpreation is false. This is a depiction of an aspect of ancient Egyptian theology. The scene depicts the creation of the sun god in the form of a serpent surrounded by either an oval body of water or a magical (heka) field. At the end of the oval is a lotus blossom and stem.
