Hello everyone! Here is something that has been in the works, for the longest time, between clients and regular projects, the sequel to my basic sculpted 3D model in Zbrush , posted roughly 5 months ago, which was a sequel to my personal custom combo challenge idea, where I asked people to select a combination from my prompt list, and I would invent for them a concept based on the combination they chose. Of all those ink 2D drawings, i liked this one the most so i decided to take a stab at it. The development was extreemly slow, as I was constantly busy , so sometimes weeks passed, one time 2 months passed without me even touching it, and the rest of the time sometimes I took 2 hours, sometimes only 10 minutes....untill… NOW. :D It is finally done. I had total a blast inventing and making it alive during the entire year. :) Hope you like it! Second university project, to create a floating island diorama Went for all assets having relatively low pollys to have a fuller, busy impression. My aim is to create a story by portraying a witch’s island of books, with her oragami birds and fish, aswell as her dragon Familiar. I tried to make most of the pages unique and included references to the dragon on a few of the books. Not too sure about the colouring, was intending to have far more pinks and turquoises to aid a magical feel but ended up rather brown. Willow trees are my favourite so went for a magical pink fantasy one. Struggled a lot with the composition of the island and in hind sight would like to move everything around, but overall semi-happy. This little garden was created primarily for practice; I wanted to create a new environment but keep the scope relatively small. A garden is perfect because in some ways it resembles a little world, with its own creatures, foliage and landscape. My texturing/material skills are not a strength yet so I was keen on exploring what detail I could achieve with using very simple painted textures. The whole project was mainly created using Blender, with a little bit of Photoshop for painting and post processing. The HDRI environment texture used was sourced from https://hdrihaven.com/ “nagoya_wall_path”. At first I was planning to just produce a render from one angle, but later decided it would be nice to show off in Sketchfab. I then baked all textures for import into Sketchfab, it was a busy scene so I had to make some sacrifices in texture quality.
