First time properly using Substance Painter - Croix De Guerre 1939, given to brave souls who fought along side the allies during WW2.
Some areas aren’t as accurate as I’d like them to be due to having to work around an issue in photoshop (had to mess about with the UV a little, so there’s a tiny bit of weirdness). That said, this has been an important breakthrough in my workflow and I’ve finally entered the realm of PBR.
Whilst I do own (and quite like) Quixel, its shortcomings are mostly performance based, whereas Substance does very well in this case. The thing with Substance is pinpoint accuracy is at a loss along with important things like proper brush scaling on both U and V. I’ve yet to check out the latest version of Substance though. Pinocchio! Such an amazing movie and storybook for children(and s!). In this Diorama-Pop Up project I took the courage to write a little story about the famous “Sea Monster” named Pepper. I changed a little bit of the original story, so please don’t be angry if the whale is a cute whale.I’m really feeling the 3D painting energy after this project. It was amazing to work with a Reference to build the lovable Pinocchio. Early this week I contacted by email Christian Cornia, a professional and amazing 2D illustrator, if I could use one of his Pinocchio exploration concepts. He greet me with joy and allowed me to use his concept as reference. Go check his work at Artstation! I hope you enjoy this little diorama and I’m craving to do more. The last character of my Oxymoron Project
This is a personal project I named Oxymoron Project. It consists of three main character which are contradictory. The project started when I heard by the very first time the meaning of oxymoron, a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction. The first concept was only on my head 8 years ago,and now they are in 3D. The first oxymoron example was cold fire and that’s how I imagined a cute flame character with cold.
