Spain’s Altamira Cave is known for some of the most pristine examples of Paleolithic cave paintings, pictographs and petroglyphs. The bulls painted on the ceiling are at least 14,000 years old, and with new dating techniques, archaeologists have determined that painting first started in this chamber more than 34,000 years ago. Medieval church located inside the impressive Fortress of Calatrava La Nueva in Aldea del Rey (Ciudad Real, Spain). The castle/convent of Calatrava La Nueva was built in the 13th century to serve as the seat of the powerful Order of Calatrava and today it is one of the most important castles in Spain. Inside, a large 3-nave church was built in an artistic style that mixes elements of Romanesque, Gothic and influences of Islamic art. This mixture of styles, but also of constructive and decorative techniques, make the church of Calatrava La Nueva a unique place.

This sculpture is the cenotaph (and empty tomb) of Francisco Moltó Valor who was the mayor of the city of Alcoy (Spain) in the year 1876 and an important businessman.
The sculptor was Lorenzo Ridaura (1871-1963) when he was only 27 years old. The work represents the three theological virtues: Faith, Hope and Charity.

The Castle of Mesones de Isuela, which is located at the top of a rocky village above the town of Mesones de Isuela (Aranda)-Spain, is one of the largest castles in Aragon. It belonged to the Templars and the house of Luna. The first reference to the castle is the donation of Sancha de Abiego to the Templars in 1175. The Order of the Temple kept it until the end of its existence.
In the fourteenth century it was of the Fernández de Luna. The Archbishop of Zaragoza Lope Fernández de Luna had the building built that can be seen today and gave it in his will along with the towns of Tierga, Jarque de Moncayo, Sestrica, Nigüella and Lucena de Jalón to his sister Toda. When Archbishop Lope Ferrández de Luna died in 1382 the castle was almost abandoned. It passed into the hands of the Ximénez de Urrea upon Toda’s death.
