Cooperation with our friends at G-3D-PrintThe front cover of the jetski was scanned using Artec Leo in 15 minutes (including chalc sraying, markers, etc.) and the post-process workflow took about 60 minutes in Artec Studio. The jetski belongs to the world champion György Kasza and his team. The purpose of the scan is to make a perfect fit bespoke fabricated composite cover, therefore some reverse engineering was necessary to get a native CAD data (step) to be able to machine the mold for the composite. For this, weve sed Quicksurface’s Autosurface option to get the nurbs surface based on the HQ mesh. It seems likely that it was originally made as part of the furniture in one of the churchesin the episcopal centre.

3D scan of a mounted skin of a snow leopard (Uncia uncia), one of the most threatened big cats on earth. Thanks to successful breeding programs, they can frequently be seen in zoos, but they are rarer in museums. This female snow leopard died in the Schönbrunn Zoo in Vienna in 1943 and was mounted at the NHM Vienna.
The snow leopard is Number 95 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 38 of the NHM Vienna.

3D scan of a trumpeter swan (Cygnus buccinator), which is the largest native water bird in Northern America and has been widespread there. These birds are around 1.5 meters long, with a wingspan of more than 2 meters. Trumpeter swans got their vernacular name due to their trumpet-like calls. This also reflects the scientific species name derived from “buccinare” – to trumpet.
The exhibited specimen originates from the Tiergarten Nürnberg and came to the NHM Vienna in 1978.
This trumpeter swan can be found in Hall 30 of the Natural History Museum Vienna.
