This is a Sci-Fi prop that I designed for Ashleigh Warner's CGMA Course. https://www.cgmasteracademy.com/courses/143-creating-stylized-game-assets Coming up with a concept for a Sci-Fi themed prop was outside my comfort zone. Here there are some texturing steps for the buildings in our project “Wall Town”.
I used 3d-Coat.
Step 1: I made normals for some panels and baked the occlusion
Step 2: Base colors. I made a color palette and I picked my colors from there. I also added some bolts on the metal plates.
Step 3: I added some smart materials, dirt and a gradient from the bottom.
Step 4: I hand painted all the rust effects, and other little dirt effects.

I thought this would be a cool idea and wanted to take the opportunity to create something new for the World of Warcraft universe. I thought of this idea because I wanted to take something that exists in real life and turn it into something that might live in the World of Warcraft, and I knew the Tuskarr would be a fun culture to delve into. Since they’re based on Walruses I came up with the Milk Delivery Sledge for transporting their milk across the icy places of Northrend and the Dragon Isles. I tried to make everything fit in with the Tuskarr aesthetic and had a lot of fun with it. I appreciate all the feedback I had throughout the process which allowed me to push the project further and I’m really happy with how it looks. Enjoy! :)
