I love Metroid since I can remember. Decided to do this model to learn more about Maya, UVing and make the lowest poly count i can. Sadly my model was getting all squared here even with normal maps, soo i had to up 1 smooth subDiv, but its ok for me. I’ve learned a lot on the process of making this Morph Ball. Even if it is simple i’m really happy with the results and my progress learning 3D and Maya. Object curated by the The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature (formerly the South Florida Museum), Bradenton, FL. This object (#A143), is from the Tallant collections received in c. 1940. This piece was noted by archaeologist John Mann Goggin as possibly being related to the Glades III Period in Florida prehistory (AD 1200-1763). Goggin only saw images and a drawing of the piece, and its true provenance and dating remain unknown. The small, 10.5 cm high piece appears to be that of an anthropomorphic owl.

So this is the 3d view of my first model I’ve made, Zyle the wolf dragon. It took me so long to finish this because I have to calculate how many sides of the neck. This is for connecting the head to the body. It was difficult and I try to stay away from using 3 side polygon (Some are using it but not much). Also I’ve added the teeth on the model. At least this is the result though. I’ll posting for updates.
