Printing the Rebekah02 model in scale from 1/10 to 1/32 on the Lad-1.0 printer. The goal of this series is to check the print quality on a real object: thin shells, up to a thickness of one perimeter (dress), small elements starting with the platform (heels), small elements starting with supports (fingers on the right hand), the degree of loss of detail when the scale is reduced. Five figures were printed, with the same settings, except for the diameter of the nozzle and the height of the layer: The printing temperature is 240 degrees of C. The default speed is 40 mm/s. A simple elaborate watered silk dress, in brown with a purple checked pattern being visible throughout. The silk has started to shatter, indicating the age and fragility of the garment. The cuffs on both of the sleeves are slightly worn and showing some evidence of wear.
There are hook and eye fastenings up the back of the dress, which would have been easier to fasten by the woman on her own, possibly indicating that she didn’t have someone available to dress her. The dress overall is incredibly modest, which could simply be indicative of the time period, along with that of the status of the woman wearing it. There is potential for this dress to have belonged to a wet nurse who was employed by a wealthy family to feed the babies.
