Today i'm glad to show you the last project I worked on this month of February with some Friends. Why ? Cause no, it's not a piece I plan whatever to sell, but It was about making a quick overview of a futur real project. It was about an Archaeopark on the coast of the french riviera :) The project is expected to include several building like a Noreia (ship covered structure) a Palestre (Gymnase), A villa, some Houses, a Bouleuterion and small Culte Area. As you maybe know, the region was largely colonize by people from ancient Greece, who founded either counters or strongholds like Marseille (Massalia) - Hyères (Olbia) - Agde (Agathé Tyché) - Antibes (Antipolis), Nice (Nicaia) through the coast. So it could be cool to see theses reconstructed one day ! Of course for the moment, I insist, this is just a first preview of what this could be. Every single asset used in this environment comes from that pack. It uses 4 different materials (five if we count the water, as it was separated for manual opacity control), each one with Albedo, Roughness, Normal, AO, Metallic and Opacity maps. Most textures (Environment, People and Market) are 1024x1024, and the one cotaining all the buildings is 2048x2048. Also, most of the details are contained on the normal map, resulting in a low poly count. Even if the scene reaches over 500k polys, keep in mind the size of the city.
As for this scene, it has been something I’ve wanted to create for so many years, and I finally decided to make it with the pack. It even works as an UE4 level.
