Weekend project, I could have added more details all around but main focus was mostly on getting the new addons to work with Blender. Missed the front of the robe while animating, will fix it later when I get some sleep. Flag and bandage are Jiggle-IK animated, rest is by hand. This is my entry for the Low Poly Game Challenge for Sketchfab!
The hero of the game is a brave Monk, surrounded by his KI energy, which is willing to fight the scary Ryuu Dragon to save his friend, trapped at the top of the castle.
In the left side of the screen, there’s a Takoyaki shop where you can recharge your energy.
And in the right side, you can find Kappa, a fisherman with whom you can talk to ear prizes.
Get ready and fight the dragon to follow the path and get the Daruma item. That’s the only way to get inside the castle, which is floating in the blue sky air above furious sea.
It was modeled and assembled with Maya.
For this scene, I used a few textures, for the sky, sea and caustic, made with Photoshop. Besides these textures, everything is just flat color shader to achieve the toon look.

Here is a character I made from my own concept. A little bit of a mash-up between Nordic and Orcish styles. Got kinda carried away with fur and fur cards here but the end result looks alright I think wink
Had a lot of fun and discovered a bunch of techniques during this project. In the future, fur will be made a little bit differently (found a few ways to make it faster and better looking). But for this character I’ll leave it like that.
I’m not a concept artist, but that was a good practice and I will definitely do this kind of concepting in the future!
