This statue was commissioned by the French government after the defeat of the country in the 1870 Franco-Prussian War. It is the only public commission of the state from 1870 to 1914, called the Golden Age of statuary in Paris, the other statues were funded by private subscriptions. The sculptor took as his model Aimée Girod (1856–1937), a young woman from Domrémy, Joan of Arc's village in Lorraine. The monument was classified as a historic monument on March 31, 1992. The name “Devi” is given to Hindu Goddesses. All Hindu Goddesses can be referred to as Devi. The opposite to Devi is Deva which is masculine. This statue is oldest among other statues in the temple and it’s surprising how the almost totally damaged statue hasn’t yet been transferred to museum but still stays at it’s original place. A thick metal strap is put around this statue to protect it from additional damage and thieves.
Statue located inside a temple called called Hiranya Varna Mahavihar. This temple is also commonly known as the “golden temple” due to its all inside statues, structures that are coated with golden color. This mahavihar is unique because unlike other mahavihar this is bigger and has a three-storey golden pagoda of “Shakyamuni Buddha” which was built in 12th century by King Bhaskar Varman.

After the First World War, the activities of the Association for the Construction of Jan Žižka’s Monument in Žižkov were renewed. As early as June 1920 the cornerstone was laid in the presence of President T. G. Masaryk.
The monument was eventually commissioned in 1931 from sculptor Bohumil Kafka, a professor at Prague’s Academy of Visual Arts, outside the tender. The sculpture was intended to be monumental and realistic. It took Kafka ten years to complete the sculpture, and an advisory board of nine people was established to supervise his work, consisting of specialists, historians and hippologists. For this job, Bohumil Kafka had a new studio built in Ořechovka, Prague, 27m high and 18m wide.
