This archeological site if found next to the port in the island of Aigina southwest of Athens, Greece. 37.750199, 23.423487 The column standing in the center is a part of a temple to Apollo 6 B.C. The site is very interesting since the area was used before as a prehistoric settlement and after as well. Do visit the museum if you have the chance. Please help improve the description. This is a work in progress. The point cloud alone was 4GB. I have 8GB of RAM and my computer crashed constantly. This relief carving is in one of the crypts at Dendera Temple, Egypt and has been interpreted by various fringe or conspiracy theorists and “alternate” history nuts as evidence of the ancient Egyptians having light bulbs.
However, that pseudoscientific interpreation is false. This is a depiction of an aspect of ancient Egyptian theology. The scene depicts the creation of the sun god in the form of a serpent surrounded by either an oval body of water or a magical (heka) field. At the end of the oval is a lotus blossom and stem. No need to create sensatial false explanantions when actual data is more interesting.
