This is my World War 1 trench scene I have been working on and recently finished. My first attempt at a “scene" or “environment" as I mostly have done props prior to this. I would have liked to finish it on the 100th anniversary of The war to end all wars, but wasn't able to. I hope you enjoy it all the same. Concept, Modeling, Texturing and rendering done by myself. The bottoms to the jacket (see model), which is made from the same wool/tweed that would have been incredibly uncomfortable to wear and probably irritated the skin. There are 8 buttons lining the waist band of the trousers, in sets of four sets of two buttons going across, and there is then 4 buttons going down the front of the trousers which were incredibly stiff to undo and redo. There are two welt pockets either side. I made three 6k video around the monument from different angles, then I picked 120 frames from each of them, finally processing the 360 pics in reality capture.

Thhe model1907/10 (here, the 1913 Landsturm cut) represented the main tunic of a german foot soldier’s unifrom at the start of the first world war (1914). This version is specific to the Mannschaften, Other Ranks, of the Prussian Army (Buttons and Buckle, red piping everywhere with Brandenburg cuffs). The tunic went trhough considerable changes due to the war, removing decorative elements, making it cheaper to produce. A M15 blouse was introduced in 1915 with a simpler design, no visible buttons and no pipping.

This model was used in a rendered photo that I submitted to the 2018 (Edit: 2019) APS Metro show in Abuquerque as part of the “Digital Photography/Special Techniques” category. Unlike my CS:GO skins, this model was actually made by me. Made in Maya, and textured in substance painter, this NEC APC computer looks very nice in my opinion due to it’s 4K screen and emissive map. Weirdly enough I don’t remember this project taking very long. The model and texturing probably only took 3 hours and was made during school. But I am typing this at 1:16AM so I dunno. Enjoy my model.
P.S. I included 2 STOS basic references for lolz as well as a motherlover one that didn’t survive the resolution of one of the materials. Sad.
Edit: I don’t know why, but this didn’t make it in to the show. I honestly don’t know why. Even if the picture sucked (it didn’t) it should’ve made it in because of how few entries in the Computer Generated Art categories there were. Oh well.
