The Boeslunde Altarpiece Altarpiece with two pairs of wings, made in North Germany ca. 1425. it came to the National Museum from Boeslunde Churh on Sjaeland, but it was probably originally placed in the Carmelite monastery in the nearby town of Skelskør, which was torn down between 1550 and 1560. The Carmelite church was dedicated to the Virgin Mary, who is also the central figure on the Boeslunde altarpiece. The colours of the altarpiece are the original ones. On the main face there is a scene in which a priest offers a libation on a tripod before performing the sacrifice of the bull. In the rest of the scenes we find various ritual elements.

A finely decorated silver-gilt casket, made in Paris around 1490-1510, and believed to have been owned by Mary, Queen of Scots. It is an extremely rare example of French silver from the Renaissance era because much was melted down for their precious metals. Its survival attests to its association with Mary, and it has been treasured as a relic of this unfortunate queen by the Dukes of Hamilton for over 340 years.
Its particular renown derives from the belief that it is the casket that was dramatically produced at a hearing against Mary at Westminster in 1568, containing the notorious ‘Casket Letters’, used as evidence of the queen’s complicity in the murder of her husband Henry, Lord Darnley.

Purpose
Juice Cylinders are Mary’s Magical Adventure universe’s equivalent of juice boxes. They are round drink containers, meant to be used by children as snacks when away from home. There are handles on both sides of the cylinder, for easy holding by kids. Straws are inserted off-center on top, which lets kids see the label and window into the container, letting them see how much of their drink remains.
Unlike real juice boxes, Juice Cylinders are sturdy so kids can’t squish them. It’s better to teach them not to squeeze their drink containers to get juice out quicker, or they could try that with restaurant cups and end up soaked in their drink! Better avoid that…
