A wooden viking era longboat, made for sea and river travel. It is possible Ragnar once sailed this boat across the sea to Wessex, but no guarantees. It was a tough and busy week, but I still wanted to challenge myself with this weeks prompt. Getting the planks on the side right was tricky, but was a fun puzzle to figure out. A little 3D story made for the WeeklyCGChallenge #102 “Viking Age”. I’m really happy with how this turned out.
Almost everything was done with Blender, but I also used PixPlant to get the map textures. It’s a great tool, easy to use, and easy to get great results for the Specular material workflow!
