The Space Exploration Vehicle (SEV) concept is designed to be flexible depending on the destination; the pressurised cabin can be used both for missions in space and for exploration of the surface of planetary bodies, including near-Earth asteroids and Mars. The surface exploration version of the SEV has the cabin mounted on a chassis, with wheels that can pivot 360 degrees and travel at about 10 kilometres per hour in any direction. It is about the size of a pick-up truck (with 12 wheels) and can accommodate two astronauts for up to 14 days with sanitary and sleeping facilities. Similarly, the space version of the SEV would have the same pressurised cabin on a flying platform; it would also allow two astronauts to stay for 14 days.

This was a personal project I worked on in my spare time over the course of a few weeks, and was my take on what a futuristic, all-terrain space exploration vehicle might look like.
The eight-wheeled mechanism was heavily inspired by the Daihotai Tractor from the movie Aliens (as used by the Jordan family on the Hadley’s Hope colony).
