It was originally situated in the friary in Llanfaes but following the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 1530s, the tomb chest was dismantled and moved to its current location at St Gredifael’s near to the original family home of the Tudors.
The model was commissioned by the Church in Wales and completed by Gwynedd Archaeological Trust in 2014, prior to conservation work on the tomb and repairs to the church.
