Each model is made of 1500 triangles, and 1024 pixels albedo and normal maps. The original scans were first remeshed with mmgs, and decimated, UV unwrapped and baked in blender. Hello everyone! Here is something that has been in the works, for the longest time, between clients and regular projects, the sequel to my basic sculpted 3D model in Zbrush , posted roughly 5 months ago, which was a sequel to my personal custom combo challenge idea, where I asked people to select a combination from my prompt list, and I would invent for them a concept based on the combination they chose.
Of all those ink 2D drawings, i liked this one the most so i decided to take a stab at it. The development was extreemly slow, as I was constantly busy , so sometimes weeks passed, one time 2 months passed without me even touching it, and the rest of the time sometimes I took 2 hours, sometimes only 10 minutes....untill… NOW. :D
It is finally done. I had total a blast inventing and making it alive during the entire year. :)

Note the twisting of the cephalic fins, which are used during feeding. Skye was filmed primarily while swimming off the coast of Palm beach, Florida. Jessica Pate and her team with the Marine Megafauna Foundation (www.marinemegafauna.org) were instrumental for filming Skye and providing access to other data on Manta Rays.
