  Yoshis Island (New version) 3D Model 2023-11-06
About 6 years ago (jul 19th 2016), I published on Sketchfab one of my first project with Blender. I discovered at the same time the anotation function that I found great to tell stories with a simple 3d model. This model was Yoshi Island. A model that has really aged (and is very ugly too :D). That's why I wanted to update it. All is not perfect but the main thing for me was to see the evolution between these two models. More information about my work is available on my Artstation. My entry for the “Fisherman” challenge on the WeeklyCGChallenge!! I came back to 3d after a long summer break with almost three months without any modeling. And it was a real blast to work on this and recover de hobby. The scene features the Andrea Gail, the fishing boat that was lost at the sea during the “Perfect Storm” on 1991. Second university project, to create a floating island diorama Went for all assets having relatively low pollys to have a fuller, busy impression. My aim is to create a story by portraying a witch’s island of books, with her oragami birds and fish, aswell as her dragon Familiar. I tried to make most of the pages unique and included references to the dragon on a few of the books. Not too sure about the colouring, was intending to have far more pinks and turquoises to aid a magical feel but ended up rather brown. Willow trees are my favourite so went for a magical pink fantasy one. Struggled a lot with the composition of the island and in hind sight would like to move everything around, but overall semi-happy.
