  Short Eared Owl 3D Model 2023-11-04
From the taxidermy collection at Wargo Nature Center, Centerville, MN. One of a growing collection, found here: https://skfb.ly/SWRp In photogrammetry there's balance between large f-stop and shutter speed. I think the long shutter speed blew out the ends of the feathers. Well, that and they're translucent.... Feathers are tough. 119 images processed with Photoscan. Side note: Photoscan is 5-10 times slower than Visual SfM (really), but damn, it's texturing is excellent. I wish I could tweak the mesh reconstruction settings, though. The choices are pretty limited 3d model

Object curated by the The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature (formerly the South Florida Museum), Bradenton, FL. This object (#A143), is from the Tallant collections received in c. 1940. This piece was noted by archaeologist John Mann Goggin as possibly being related to the Glades III Period in Florida prehistory (AD 1200-1763). Goggin only saw images and a drawing of the piece, and its true provenance and dating remain unknown. The small, 10.5 cm high piece appears to be that of an anthropomorphic owl. Yet another rig of a variant of dragon I made in a span of 3 weeks. Though I very mostly made up the design as I went along (as usual) I had several insperations in which some may show more than others ranging from a VRex to the modern godzilla, to crocodiles to a handful of dragon art on the internet and etc. Would look even better if Sketchfab was able to process Blender bendy bones, but outside of Blender the tail, neck and wings will look like that (and if animation was my specialty). Was originally going to be a dark gray and somewhat similar and simpler patterns, but ended up with this instead. Didnt really establish any kind of lore n stuff as usual ,but I would imagine about this boi being a green fire breather that would result into toxic or venomous fumes and being extremely ferral.
