Vítězslav Hájek, is considered the founder of modern Czech poetry. The ceremonial unveiling of the Hálek Memorial took place on 14 May 1882. The poet's bronze bust is placed above the fountain with a lion's head like a gargoyle. On the lyre below the bust there is a laurel wreath, on the sides are allegories of Comedy and Tragedy . 3D scan of a black swan (Cygnus atratus), a large bird which is native to Australia and Tasmania. Fully grown black swans can be up to about 1.40 meters long and weigh up to 9 kilograms.
In Austria the black swan is an alien species which breeds irregularly elsewhere. In Vienna a breeding population with up to 170 individuals became extinct in the late nineties.
The exhibited specimen has been donated to the NHM Vienna in 1921 by the “Tiergarten Schönbrunn”.
This black swan can be found in Hall 30 of the Natural History Museum Vienna.

Originally the church was built in the second half of the 17th century in the village of Velké Loučky near Mukačevo (today’s Zakarpatska Ukraine). The whole building was made of wood and ranks amongst the most beautiful peasant buildings of this region. The timbered church is more than 14m long and is about 8m in width. The main and also the tallest steeple is over 17m tall.
The village of Velké Loučky sold the church to its richer neighbour village so called Medvedovce in 1793. The building was taken apart and put together again in its new place. The church was given to the Prague City and transferred in 1929. It must have been taken apart again with its individual parts marked with numbers. The parts were then carried on four railway wagons.

After the First World War, the activities of the Association for the Construction of Jan Žižka’s Monument in Žižkov were renewed. As early as June 1920 the cornerstone was laid in the presence of President T. G. Masaryk.
The monument was eventually commissioned in 1931 from sculptor Bohumil Kafka, a professor at Prague’s Academy of Visual Arts, outside the tender. The sculpture was intended to be monumental and realistic. It took Kafka ten years to complete the sculpture, and an advisory board of nine people was established to supervise his work, consisting of specialists, historians and hippologists. For this job, Bohumil Kafka had a new studio built in Ořechovka, Prague, 27m high and 18m wide.
