Vítězslav Hájek, is considered the founder of modern Czech poetry. The ceremonial unveiling of the Hálek Memorial took place on 14 May 1882. The poet's bronze bust is placed above the fountain with a lion's head like a gargoyle. On the lyre below the bust there is a laurel wreath, on the sides are allegories of Comedy and Tragedy . 3D scan of a fossilized ammonite from the Lower Albian (Lower Cretaceous). The mother-of-pearl shell is still visible, which makes this piece special. This ammonite was found in Ambatolafia within the Mahajanga Basin in the northwest of Madagascar. Take a look at a 3D scan of a big block full of fossilized ammonites from the same location here.
This fossil cannot be found in the exhibition of the NHM Vienna. Some other beautiful specimens of this kind can be found in Hall 8 of the NHM Vienna.
