This model is probably about 85% accurate, although I’ve gone for a more standard imperial gray to match the Lambda shuttle, rather than the black and orange we first saw in Rogue One. The wings and laser cannon turrets are all separate objects with the correct pivot points to rotate into flight mode. I followed the top view proportions and scale of the original design, but I was curious to try a more streamlined look, with the front wings better integrated into the fuselage. I made a few other changes and also swapped on a turret inspired by the imperial troop transport as seen in The Mandalorian. The old official model was called a GAT-12 Skipray Blastboat, you could think of this as a slightly more lightly armed GAT-10 design, better at atmospheric flight. Still instantly recognizable by any EU fan! For this third model, I wanted to work on a more atypical shape and the Bombay Sapphire bottle immediately seemed like the ideal candidate with its characteristic blue color, the inlay on the sides of the 10 botanicals infused with alcohol vapors used in the composition of the gin and its label with golden stripes.
