This is a character I made during a three week long character course earlier this semester at FutureGames. I was inspired by the character design and style of Stunlock Studios Battlerite and also League of Legends. The character design was also based on my own concept art/ sketches. Made this floating island with a lighthouse in 5 days trying to be done by the end of the week. And I gotta say, this was a marathon. Were a lot of troubles with baking, making fine details. If I had more time I would probably did separate bakes, but not this time. So, about the model: itβs a handpainted lowpoly with baked map from a highpoly. Triangles count: 27,5K. I was going with anime style (Miyazaki movies) and for reference I used artworks of Jim Shore (βBenatrex - Shorelightsβ), youβll notice the lighthouse that I recreated.

I remember when i watched Tangled, The scene that left the deepest impression on me was this scene, the floating lights, the reflection in contrast to the dark of the night and the calm of the lake, it took my breath away and i didn’t even notice they already started singing.
I guess it might be cool to recreate scenes i like in order to also study the reasons i like them :)
