This is Komaru Naegi’s “Megaphone Hacking Gun” from Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. I’ve been enjoying the game so I decided to whip this up. I mostly used screen shots from my Vita for reference photos, because of that I really wasn’t able to get a clear view of the icons on the top of the gun or the actual grip of the gun. I’ve made a good amount of gun grips before so it wasn’t an issue trying to sculpt the spline around how Komaru holds the gun. This tower has long since been abandoned by its former occupants and lies in ruin. I used the Warhammer 40k models Witchfate Tor and Dreadstone Blight as my main references for the design of the tower. I started this model in Maya, blocking in all the shapes. Then I moved to ZBrush and sculpted in detail. In hindsight, I wish I had made this a more modular blockout because I ran out of time sculpting each individual piece. After I had sculpted enough to finish baking my Game Res mesh I moved to texturing in Substance Painter. It took a bit of time to get my UV’s laid out well enough to have the resolution I wanted, and I ended up going from 1 texture set to 2 in order to achieve the level of detail I wanted.
