The main intention behind this gun was to make it look old, rugged and intimidating, combining these to give an old-school feel. The mechanism of this gun is similar to a modern minigun, the body holds the magazine on hooks which makes reloading a slow task. The style of holding the gun is tacky due to that it makes the gun a bit unstable for the user giving it a hard recoil momentum and an old-school feeling. The gun has two gauge meters one indicating the temperature and another one showing the amount of remaining bullets in the magazine. I wanted to try a colour scheme different from the basic steampunk colours (Golden/Brown), to make it look different from other weapons. This is a scan of the Mobius model of Frazetta’s iconic painting, the Death Dealer. The majority of this model is scanned, however some of the smaller parts, like the shield, the sword, chain, bridle and reins were recreated in Solidworks, as they were too small to scan properly. The model is actually comprised of a few separate parts for easy 3D printing. The original parts add up to more than 1GB of data, but had to be reduced dramatically to fit within the 50MB maximum upload size. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 957469 polygons.
