Though similar in appearance, each tower was designed to serve a specific function. The tallest of the three structures, a 39 story residential tower, accommodates 130 luxury apartments. A 36 story hotel building on the northern corner of the site provides stunning views from 318 guestrooms. An office tower on the west of the site provides more than 350,000 square feet of commercial office space. Some of it could definitely still take a little more attention, but overall I’m happy with where it ended up. It’s a cool ode to the infamous Piranha Plant from Super Mario Bros. Yazd is a historic city in the center of Iran, and a world UNESCO site. The city is iconic for its adobe houses and endless towers. The tower itself has a Timurian (Tamerlane) architecture. The dome part contains a set of repeating geometrical patterns, followed by two sections of caligraphy. The upper part is knotted Kufic calligraphy, it says Mecca ( مکه), the holy city of Islam.
