I really wanted to make a scifi character in his combat suit. I was inspired by Star Citizen, but Halo’s designs are really the best ones for this. For the process, at first I made the lowpoly model in Maya, then I went to Zbrush to subdivide it and put all the details needed with my own alphas. I baked the highpoly model in susbtance painter, and then I tried to make several smart materials to texture the whole character. I also did 2 different camos, because I needed a character that could fit in my upcoming space station project. I also rigged my character with my own auto-rig, therefore I was able to put it in several poses. This is my first real-time character I’ve made from scratch. I wanted to make a post-apocalyptic character that could belong in a world like Fallout or the Metro series. She goes by Jane. She is a small woman who relies on her tactical awareness to stay alive in an unforgiving wasteland. She is cold-hearted and manipulative. She has some military training and now makes a living robbing and murdering travelers and those who underestimate her. Developed as part of assginment that required to create a scene using modular assets. The concept is largely a mock-up of a mini-golf game with pinball elements. To add onto the appeal of these pasttimes, a retro flavor inspired by Nitrome games and Sonic is heavily incoporated into the visual design of the scene, whilst keeping a stylised detailed look to it, which takes cues from Super Mario Odyssey and Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe.
