The Pacific Building is an eight storey building in downtown Vancouver completed in 1911. An elegant structure of brick and concrete, finished on the exterior with pressed brick and terracotta. Developed by W. A. Bauer and designed by the architect W. Marbury Somervell of Seattle, the Pacific Building was sold on the quality of its construction. The floors are of solid re-enforced concrete, and the entire structure sanitary, clean, warm and absolutely fireproof, affording every security against damage by fire, and minimum insurance rates. The building is of an architectural type remarkable for its simple elegance of treatment, resulting from the artistic contrast of light and shade, and the fact that it is not overburdened with detail. This is a 3D mesh of a Sling tailed Agama lizard (Stellagama stellio cypriaca) scanned using the Beastcam MACRO on a live lizard in Cyprus. The mass of the lizard is 78 grams. CG artist Jer Bot retopologized and reconstructed the snake in the open source 3D animation software Blender (blender.org). He did this through images captured using an array of six Canon G16 cameras and other reference photos. The construction of this model is part of the post-doc research of Dr. Savvas Zotos (POST-DOC/0916/0034)(https://retrack.terracypria.org) and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research and Innovation Foundation. Custom ship of my own design. Model does give one warning in just UE5 on import about nearly zero tangents, but that’s because one UV has islands close together. I checked it over and it causes no issues or visible errors in Unreal. It doesn’t have that warning at all UE4. As this is educational though or for personal use it wasn’t much of a concern. As such I have also included a quad version of the model in case anyone wants to edit the unwraps, change the construction, rebake, optimise model, retexture etc without having a ton of triangles to deal with. Model uses weighted normals so no baked edges as they are chamfered. Normal map is for height detail.
