3D scan of a skull and mandible of the mosasaurid Platecarpus coryphaeus. He was an aquatic predator during the late Cretaceous, living about 81–85 million years ago. Mosasaurids are members of the order Squamata and are therefore relatives of lizards and snakes. Fossils of Platecarpus are found predominantly in North America, but were perhaps also occurring in Europe, Africa & New Zealand. This skull of Platecarpus coryphaeus will be on display in the upcoming exhibition “CineSaurs" that opens on October 19, 2021 at the NHM Vienna. Cooperation with our friends at G-3D-PrintThe front cover of the jetski was scanned using Artec Leo in 15 minutes (including chalc sraying, markers, etc.) and the post-process workflow took about 60 minutes in Artec Studio. The jetski belongs to the world champion György Kasza and his team. The purpose of the scan is to make a perfect fit bespoke fabricated composite cover, therefore some reverse engineering was necessary to get a native CAD data (step) to be able to machine the mold for the composite. For this, weve sed Quicksurface’s Autosurface option to get the nurbs surface based on the HQ mesh. There has been some despute to the identification to the person on the bench end, some say he cannot be identified while others have suggested the abbot to be St. Brendan, as his emblem in german documents is a burning torch, and St. brendan can be related back to Kirkjubø.
In the rounded top panel sits St. Olav enthroned. with a halo, crown, his long handed axe in his right and and the earth/orb in his left.
The small escutcheon above where the olique desk top would have been is the faroes coat of arms of the ram.

Upper portion of a limestone statue of Thutmose III from Deir el-Bahri displayed in the Cairo Museum. The torso of the statue without the face was found in the early 20th century and now is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The face was found during excavations at Deir el-Bahri by the Polish Expedition in the 1960s and is in the Cairo Museum collections. Casts were made of each poriton of the statue and exchanged between the institutions. Today the original face and cast of the torso can be seen in Cairo and the original torso and cast of the face can be seen in New York.
Created from 113 images (Canon EOS Rebel T7i) using Metashape 1.7.5. Access to the back of the statue was difficult and repairs to the reconstructed mesh were made in Blender 2.92.
