The Roland SP-404 is a sampler produced by Roland. Released in 2005, it is part of the SP range and succeeds the SP-3031 and SP-505 from Boss. Compared to the SP-303, it introduces some novelties which will remain the standard: a round screen, 12 pads instead of 8, and the adoption of a memory expansion system via standard cards, Compact Flash, then on SD on the following models.
