The harquebusier was the most common form of cavalry found throughout Western Europe during the early to mid-17th century. Early harquebusiers were characterised by the use of a type of carbine called a “harquebus”. In England, harquebusier was the technical name for this type of cavalry, though in everyday usage they were usually simply called ‘cavalry’ or ‘horse’. In Germany they were often termed Ringerpferd, or sometimes Reiter, in Sweden they were called lätta ryttare.
The armour comprises a Pot Helmet with two-piece skull joined by a low-comb, neck-guard (Lobster tail) of simulated lames and pointed peak or visor with three-bar guard hinged at each side to allow it to be raised when not needed. At each side are the cheek pieces for protection, hinged by means of leather strips.

The face was found during excavations at Deir el-Bahri by the Polish Expedition in the 1960s and is in the Cairo Museum collections. Casts were made of each poriton of the statue and exchanged between the institutions. Created from 113 images (Canon EOS Rebel T7i) using Metashape 1.7.5. Access to the back of the statue was difficult and repairs to the reconstructed mesh were made in Blender 2.92.
