This is a small prop for urban sci-fi scenes. I came up with the idea as a science fiction version of a modern paper newspaper vending machine. Although newspapers vending machines have been being phased out for some time due to the transition to the internet… I thought this concept would work well as something to fill in an urban environment.
The rack was modeled in blender and textured in substance painter. The screen animation uses 16 planes for each frame, cycled through using shape-keys. An attempt at creating a small environment for the Dagger of Time from the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy.
My influences were kinda all over the place. The altar and sand pile were ideas inspired by the Sands of Time Remake. The dagger combines elements from the Edge of Time from Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey with elements from the original Sands of Time design. And then I threw a couple of my own ideas in to create this weird amalgamation that I hope Prince of Persia fans will at least find serviceable, lol.
