“The name Triceratops means three-horned face, referring to the one small and two large horns on the skull, which can be seen on the cast on display in the Museum. Triceratops was 7.3 metres long, and weighed more than 6 tonnes. It was a herbivore, and its jaws were equipped with a constantly replaced battery of teeth specially adapted for cutting up tough plant material. The horn and frill of Triceratops have attracted much speculation, but it is likely that they were used for display and fighting to maintain social dominance, and to defend territory and mates. bunratty Castle is a large 15th-century Irish tower house located in the centre of Bunratty village between Limerick and Ennis, near Shannon Town and its airport. the present structure, was built by the MacNamara family after around 1425. Its builder may have been one Maccon Sioda MacNamara, chieftain of Clann Cuilein (i.e. the MacNamaras). He died before the castle was completed which happened under his son Sean Finn (died in 1467). At around 1500, Bunratty Castle came into the hands of the O’Briens (or O’Brians), the most powerful clan in Munster and later Earls of Thomond.In 1956, the castle was purchased and restored by the 7th Viscount Gort, with assistance from the Office of Public Works.He reroofed the castle and saved it from ruin. The castle was opened to the public in 1960, sporting furniture, tapestries and works of art dating to around 1600.

This is an asset I made for a game project in development that I got permission to upload. It’s definitely different than other projects I’ve done, but that was my favorite part about it!
The nest base was blocked out in Maya, brought into Zbrush to get the secondary sand shapes around the outside, and retopologized back in Maya. It was then baked and textured in Substance Painter.

3D scan of a skull cast of the three-horned dinosaur Triceratops horridus. Triceratops lived during the latest Cretaceous in what is now North America. It was one of the largest horned dinosaurs and could reach a weight up to 10 tons. Its skull alone could grow over 2 meters in length! The name Triceratops is derived from the Greek words trí- (τρί-) meaning ‘three’, kéras (κέρας) meaning ‘horn’, and ṓps (ὤψ) meaning ‘face’.
This cast of the Triceratops horridus skull can be found in Hall 10 of the NHM Vienna next to the T. rex skull.
