Four models of old style Assyrian statues, well known as Lamassu and often protective deity of gates city or Palaces entrances in ancient Persia empire. They were essentially guardian spirit and were sometime represented as giant hybrid Lion and human figure, and sometime under an another form. I tried some diverse textured aspect here (all are in Pbr 4K)… With some contraint in sculpt, I had to make the details of the wings by textures tricks and not by sculpting in the mesh. At a strip mall across town is this concrete Statue of Liberty. I’ve driven by it for years. I decided to do a quick and dirty model of it. By the time I got to the strip mall, the sun was close to setting and I had to hurry.
As you can see, South Dakota seasons are hard on decorative concrete sculptures like this one. The agragate under the surface of the concrete is starting to show in places where the concrete has worn away. The protective paint is patchy giving moisture more places to penetrate and wear down the concrete.
This model is just the latest generation cast from a prototype I first saw in the 1980s when the Statue of Liberty’s centennial was approaching. Liberty fever was on the rise and someone cashed in by creating this stylized replica.
It has been recreated in aluminum, fiberglass and concrete. It can be found in numerous statuary and garden centers. Like the Boy Scouts copper replica, it is kind of ugly but it grows on you 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 922579 polygons.

A plaque made of baked straw-tempered clay featuring a winged Babylonian goddess. It was found in southern Iraq and brought to the British Museum (BM) in 1933. It was named the “Burney Relief” after its owner, the London antique dealer Sidney Burney. Authenticity was in doubt for many years but thermoluminescence tests confirm the plaque was made between 1765 and 45 BC, thus slotted into the Old Babylonian period 1800–1750 BC. Plaque was then purchased by the BM in 2003.
There is a great debate about who is depicted as the plaque was renamed “the Queen of the Night”. For years argued to be baby-stealing demon Lilitu, but now Ishtar is now the accepted interpretation.

Hi all ! Today I’m very happy to present you my first Persian Soldier Set :)
I’m thinking I will take this way for the futur, to upload complete sets instead of posting items one by one.
I will try to adapt my modelling to better match with Game Engine integration and efficient design too.
