St. Minas monastery (or Kaptavank) is located in the village of Kaputan, Kotayk region of Armenia, at an altitude of 1800 m above sea level. It was erected in 1349 with purely hewn stones of blue basalt, possibly hence its other name Kapuyt Vank or Kaptavank (Blue Monastery). Unlike other similar types of monuments, the church stands out for its simplicity, severity and minimalism of decoration. First object to test out my new macro lens for the NX30. Does solid work, but i think there´s much room to improve. The leafes were particularly difficult to scan and required much subsequent sculpting.
If anyone got suggestion on how to improve in marco photogrammetry or tips about workflows and setups.. throw them out. Happy for any informations :)

The medieval chess pieces from the Scottish island of Lewis are among our most popular collections. They give us fascinating insights into the international connections of western Scotland and the growing popularity of chess in medieval Europe.
The eleven chess pieces on display in the Museum of Scotland were part of a large hoard buried on Lewis. The hoard contained 93 gaming pieces in total, including at least four chess sets as well as pieces from other games. The chess pieces were probably made in the late 12th or early 13th century in Norway.

I wore this trusty glove everywhere I went for the past few months, be it in my garden, pulling and seeding new plants, or at the supermarket, when shopping for supplies.
The fabric is breathy and confortable to the touch, partially coated with a waterproof rubber coating. It may indeed allow me to handle objects more confidently, yet its greatest merit is keeping viruses away :)
Overall, I’m very happy with it, and, for what it’s worth… more than just OK!
