Since I was a kid I always dreamed of being an astronaut and I read a lot of books about space.
For this challenge I teamed up with my girlfriend, who is a professional childern’s book illustrator, to recreate my desire to touch the stars.
With this entry we wanted to pay homage to all the authors and illustrators that make all the childrens dream big with their books.
All the modelling was based on her illustration, created on Maya and then hand painted on Substance Painter by me.

A few years ago I was asked by PK (aka King Deluxe) to contribute something to his VRChat world called The Land of Ooo, which was based on the cartoon TV series Adventure Time. For reasons I still can’t quite fathom I volunteered to take on creating Finn and Jake’s entire Tree Fort inside and out!
I completed the model but unfortunately other work commitments at the time meant I wasn’t able to texture it, so it was left up to other artists to finish it off. The Space Exploration Vehicle (SEV) concept is designed to be flexible depending on the destination; the pressurised cabin can be used both for missions in space and for exploration of the surface of planetary bodies, including near-Earth asteroids and Mars. The surface exploration version of the SEV has the cabin mounted on a chassis, with wheels that can pivot 360 degrees and travel at about 10 kilometres per hour in any direction.
