3D scan of a fossilized primitive bird, the extinct Confuciusornis sanctus dated 125 million years ago and found in the Liaoning province, China. The lagerstätte in China is an El Dorado for paleontologists and evolutionary biologists: more than 1000 specimens of Confuciusornis were found there. These findings provide valuable information on the evolution of birds. Confuciusornis sanctus is Number 21 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 8 of the NHM Vienna. The work was carried out by protesters in an area of the city they have occupied and dubbed the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ). Police have left the area to the protesters, but were still responding to 911 calls there, and seeking to establish dialogue with the protest leaders, the Seattle Times said.
Local photographer Kyle Kotajarvi captured the completed mural using a drone before posting the footage on Twitter. In a thread accompanying the footage, he said, “A masterpiece was created in the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone today.”

Cooperation with our friends at G-3D-PrintThe front cover of the jetski was scanned using Artec Leo in 15 minutes (including chalc sraying, markers, etc.) and the post-process workflow took about 60 minutes in Artec Studio. The jetski belongs to the world champion György Kasza and his team. The purpose of the scan is to make a perfect fit bespoke fabricated composite cover, therefore some reverse engineering was necessary to get a native CAD data (step) to be able to machine the mold for the composite. For this, weve sed Quicksurface’s Autosurface option to get the nurbs surface based on the HQ mesh.
