Hello there ! It's been quite a while, hope you're doing well :) . I made this project on my spare time during 1 week for a challenge organized by Stylized Station. Modelisation with Blender ( except the Volcano, made with ZBrush / Blender ) and texturing with Substance Painter. You can see this planet like a secondary level you could have in Super Mario Galaxy, where there's no monsters or goals but only signs explaining you some facts about the Earth. This is a displaced and decimated model of Earth made from the most recent and accurate heightmaps and albedo maps I could attain. The land layer has full ocean displacement as well with a separate water and cloud layer. Ideally this is designed to use realtime masking on the emissive lights. I used a process of projection and UVs that results in no distortion at the poles or long vertical seam typical on most spherical objects.
