I was told a really interesting fact about antique medical supplies from a teacher who taught me 3D art in the past. The reasons for a lot of medical supplies/furniture during this time being green is so that when blood sprays on this colour, it appears as black and is less confronting to patients. This is because mixing red and green together, the result achieved is a dark brownish-black colour. The drawers and cupboards have functioning hinges and can be opened and closed to store all of your important medicines and supplies! This asset was created for EDEN, the indie surreal horror game by Missing Mountain Dev. The game takes place in an Australian Manor post WWII and the Gold Rush. Drawing heavy influence from Victorian Era furnishings which were used to display wealth during this period. Our game was featured at PAX Aus! There are hook and eye fastenings up the back of the dress, which would have been easier to fasten by the woman on her own, possibly indicating that she didn’t have someone available to dress her. The dress overall is incredibly modest, which could simply be indicative of the time period, along with that of the status of the woman wearing it. There is potential for this dress to have belonged to a wet nurse who was employed by a wealthy family to feed the babies.
