If you have followed my progress for the last 2 weeks you know I don’t just do animals and such but also a lot of technical work. This infographic I made 10 years ago for TNO magazine. I thought it would be a perfect milestone model for my 10.000 followers! It took me 2 weeks to clean up the mess from 10 years ago, and a few extra days to add stuff to make it a real 3d infographic. We use our custom built and fully automated rig to capture the images generating the 3D Model. During the capture process the object is evenly lit to avoid any drop shadows. Cross-polarization method is used to get rid of specular lights. The object is also scanned from below to capture it from every side. Afterwards the scan is optimized with retopology work and uv-unwrapping to make it game ready.

These birds were bagged by Crown Prince Rudolf on the 22nd of January 1889, only nine days before he committed suicide in Mayerling, Austria. The nest of the white-tailed eagles called eyrie can be as tall as four meters and is often used for many years.
The white-tailed eagle pair with a fledgling at the center is Number 74 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 29 of the NHM Vienna.
