A 3D scan of the beloved William the Hippo from a recent trip to The Metropolitan Museum of Art. ca. 1961–1878 B.C. “This statuette of a hippopotamus (popularly called “William") was molded in faience, a ceramic material made of ground quartz. Beneath the blue glaze, the body was painted with lotuses. These river plants depict the marshes in which the animal lived, but at the same time their flowers also symbolize regeneration and rebirth as they close every night and open again in the morning…The hippo's modern nickname first appeared in 1931 in a story that was published in the British humor magazine Punch. It reports about a family that consults a color print of the Met’s hippo—which it calls “William"—as an oracle. The Met republished the story the same year in the Museum’s Bulletin, and the name William caught on!" This vestment set once belonged to Bishop James Gillis, the Vicar Apostolic to the Eastern District of Scotland from 1852 to 1864.
The chasuble is French and probably dates from the nineteenth century. Called a ‘fiddle back’ because of its shape, it is made of cloth of gold and lavishly embroidered with roses and lilies as symbols of Our Lady. The central design is worked mostly in bullions and depicts the Lamb of God on the Book With Seven Seals. Upper portion of a limestone statue of Thutmose III from Deir el-Bahri displayed in the Cairo Museum. The torso of the statue without the face was found in the early 20th century and now is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The face was found during excavations at Deir el-Bahri by the Polish Expedition in the 1960s and is in the Cairo Museum collections. Casts were made of each poriton of the statue and exchanged between the institutions. Today the original face and cast of the torso can be seen in Cairo and the original torso and cast of the face can be seen in New York.
Created from 113 images (Canon EOS Rebel T7i) using Metashape 1.7.5. Access to the back of the statue was difficult and repairs to the reconstructed mesh were made in Blender 2.92.

I made this project on my spare time during 1 week for a challenge organized by Stylized Station.
Modelisation with Blender ( except the Volcano, made with ZBrush / Blender ) and texturing with Substance Painter.
You can see this planet like a secondary level you could have in Super Mario Galaxy, where there’s no monsters or goals but only signs explaining you some facts about the Earth.
