My Submission for the #FairytaleChallenge! I did a scene from the princess and the frog, with a bit of ruins/magical elements. The princess is just about to drop her favorite golden ball into a deep well, from which the frog will retrieve it, at the price of a kiss (or the right to sleep in her bed and eat her dinner, in the original tale). Recently I had the unique chance of seeing some of Ryden’s best work at an exhibit near me, and meeting the artist himself!
All of his work is really special and a very encouraging opportunity to have fun adapting his work to 3D.
This little model was made using Blender and Photoshop.
The sci-fi space suit was the coolest part to do, I especially love how all the shapes combine together.
The baby was rigged then posed last to fit the tummy in its fetal position.
I kept the textures high quality 4096, drew out some of the shadows staying true to the paintings style and colours.
